    Hello,

Should our docs on installing direct people NOT to  ../download/..   but to something like

    /usr/local/

    /usr/local/bin

    http://kamanja.org/administration-monitoring-1-4/prerequisites-1-4/install-scala-1-4/

Home >> Administration and Monitoring >> Prerequisites >> Step 2: Install Scala

Download the Scala 2.11.7 binaries and unpack the archive.

    http://www.scala-lang.org/download/2.11.7.html

Add scala and scalac to your path, if is is not already there.

Note: On Linux, use .bashrc. On Mac, use .bash_profile.

For example, in your .bashrc add:

    export SCALA_HOME=<where you installed Scala>
    export PATH=$SCALA_HOME/bin:$PATH

    For example:

    export SCALA_HOME=/Users/<userid>/Downloads/scala-2.11.7
    export PATH=$SCALA_HOME/bin:$PATH

Here is another example where the Downloads directory is used…

    Hi Greg,

I changed all the examples so that the install directory is /usr/local.

These changes will go out in Kamanja 1.5.

    Hope this is ok.

    thanks,

    alison
